And I thought photographing bees was hard … bees have nothing on hummingbirds. We have four of them that hang out on the upstairs balcony where there are four feeders. The hummingbirds seem to be territorial over these feeders. They fight over them and scare each other away. It takes a few minutes, sometimes longer, for them to get used to me sitting there. They are fast, darty, and curious little birds. I used a 105mm and a speedlight on all of these, sometimes at 250 and other times at 2,000+. Tried different processes. Some use textures, some are simple B&W conversions, and others are as shot.
